Bottom line: We were hired by the general contractor to install the HVAC for the data hut at a new national retailer fuel station in Texas. The building houses the tank monitoring console, pump controllers, and fueling emergency panels, so it needs reliable cooling every hour the station is open. We installed an LG ductless heat pump: a wall-mounted outdoor unit on brackets and a 4-way ceiling cassette inside.

Why a Data Hut Needs Its Own HVAC

A fuel station data hut is a small, sealed building full of electronics that run all day: tank monitoring, variable-frequency pump controllers, and power distribution. That equipment puts out heat, and a Texas summer adds more. When the room overheats, controllers fault and pumps can shut down. Cooling here is not about comfort. It keeps the station selling fuel.

What We Installed

  • LG ductless heat pump. Sized for the equipment heat load, with inverter capacity that ramps to match it. Heat pump operation also covers cold snaps.
  • 4-way ceiling cassette. Mounted between the structural members, throwing air in four directions across the controller panels and tank monitor without blowing directly on any one piece of equipment.
  • Wall-mounted outdoor unit. On steel brackets above grade, clear of vehicle traffic and site work, with a dedicated disconnect beside it.
  • Clean line set and drain routing. Insulated line set through a single wall penetration with an exterior line set cover, and condensate piped out of the building.
  • Coordinated with the GC. Worked around electrical and fuel system trades on an active site, with ladders and lifts, not a crane.

Why GCs Bring Us In

General contractors need an HVAC sub who shows up on schedule, coordinates with the other trades, and closes out clean. We are Texas licensed (TACLA00165496E), carry workers’ compensation, and provide a full vendor packet, COI, and startup documentation. See our vendor packet or verify our credentials.

Equipment Rooms We Cool

Fuel station data huts, telecom and IT closets, electrical rooms, storage facility offices, and small retail back rooms. Anywhere electronics run 24/7 in a small space, a properly sized ductless system is usually the right answer. See light commercial HVAC, mini-split service, and storage facility HVAC.

Commercial HVAC Questions

What is a fuel station data hut?

The small building at a fuel station that houses the tank monitoring console, pump controllers, fueling emergency shutoff panels, and power equipment. If it overheats, the electronics fault and the pumps can go down.

Do you work as an HVAC subcontractor for general contractors?

Yes. This project was a GC subcontract. We coordinate with the electrical and building trades, follow the drawings and submittals, and hand over startup documentation at closeout.

Why ductless instead of a packaged unit?

A data hut is small and full of equipment. A ductless heat pump needs one wall penetration, no ductwork, and no roof curb, runs efficiently at part load, and heats in winter too. The outdoor unit mounts on wall brackets, clear of grade and vehicle traffic.

Do you service equipment rooms after turnover?

Yes. We offer preventive maintenance contracts with per-unit documentation for fuel stations, telecom and data rooms, storage facilities, and retail.

Where do you take commercial work?

Commercial and multifamily service across North Texas and the greater DFW area, with larger projects across Texas.
